Persecuted Christian
refugees from Orissa state
The Lord Jesus Christ said that many of His people would be persecuted. Many
Shiloh Church Ministries (SCM) pastors and church members suffer persecution
for their faith.
During 2008, severe persecution in Orissa state climaxed and resulted in
thousands of Christians being murdered and many Christian chapels, houses
and possessions were destroyed. The Lord directed SCM to transport 167
persecuted Christian families from Orissa state to Andhra Pradesh state to
save their lives. These Christians were chosen from amongst others because
they had lost all their possessions including their homes.
The government and railway authorities put difficult hurdles in the way of
this bold rescue attempt. SCM persisted despite some of the rescuers being
jailed. In the end they were able to bring the refugees down to Andhra
Pradesh state in small groups by train.
Since then SCM have borrowed money and bought 4 acres of land at $14000 per
acre on the Andhra Pradesh/ Orissa border in Andhra Pradesh state and
provided basic necessities to these refugees. SCM still owes a lot of money
on this land. Donations here, small or large are most welcome.
SCM wish to erect proper dwellings on this land to house a lot of refugees.
So far they have enough money for eight family dwellings costing $1000 each.
During 2010 SCM were able to relocate to various parts of Orissa and Andhra
Pradesh states all these Christian refugee families and were able to find
jobs for all of them. It is expected that some refugees will need to return
to this land.
This major project has been a great success. All the glory goes to the Lord
Jesus Christ Who led the way and provided the good outcome.
