In many villages there are a great number of young ladies who are poor and
helpless. In association with suitable churches, when we have sufficient
funds, we set up sewing centres where we train such ladies to sew, to knit
and to do embroidery work.
A sewing centre would consist of two sewing machines where up to 50 women
can learn at a time over a six month period. After this time the ladies
graduate and receive a certificate. Then another group is started. Many of
the women become Christians during this time. To keep a sewing centre going
costs $150 per month. We welcome any financial support that would go towards
enabling these ladies to support themselves and their families.
150 Australian dollars ($120 US) will provide a pedal powered sewing machine
to a poor Christian widow. Such a sewing machine will lift her and her
family out of extreme poverty, so that she can feed, clothe and educate her
children. We have received enough support to give some Christian widows a
sewing machine, but there are still many to assist in this way.

According to James - 1:27
(supported by Proverbs - 3:27 and 22:9) - "Pure and undefiled religion
before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their
trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world".
We are also maintaining about
40 helpless widows who don't have skills. We give them sarees, and at times
we help them financially. We want to help them regularly. We require at
least 30 Australian dollars ($25US) per month, to maintain a widow and her
children. Your support here would be much appreciated.
